Trekking In Bhowali

Bhowali can be called a trekker's paradise. Numerous trek routes from ancient times criss-cross through this sleepy town and enable people to fulfill their trekking desires.

One of the famous trekking routes is the Almora - Kathgodam trek. This route is best during the months of March-May and October-November. During these months, the visibility is clear and the weather is hospitable. For trekking on this route, one does not have to carry much luggage as it passes through various small towns en route and encounters a well-connected road running along with it in some places. However, it is advisable to carry your own sleeping bags and water bottles as some areas experience acute water scarcity. On this route the trekker must be physically fit as you might encounter all kinds of weather and high altitude mountain sickness. The trek passes through low areas and high ridges so temperature varies a lot.

Trek to Gagar

Gagar, famous for its Shiva Temple in the nearby areas is also called the Viewpoint of the Himalayas. It is one of the most important and famous trek destinations in the region. This is a mild trek where the trekker can walk on a route covered with pine leaves and hence it is advisable to have proper footwear. The route passes through a reserve forest of pine, oak and rhododendron and offers a scintillating view of the Himalayas towards the north and the lakes district in the south. On reaching Gagar one has an option of heading further to Jhandidevi temple/ Ramgarh or else a pickup can be arranged to bring you back to the Retreat. This trek passes through a forest and hence there is no availability of food and water en route. It is advisable to take eatables and water when heading for this trek.

We will be delighted to arrange Guides, porters and even packed lunch to make your treks more invigorating.
